Changing Season Premiere

photo 2ALI Co-Founder Chihiro Wimbush (speaking in the picture above) edited an hour-long documentary on Mas Masumoto and the four generations of his peach farming family near Fresno, California, for national PBS broadcast in May 2016. Changing Season  premiered at CAAMFEST 2015 on March 20 at the Oakland Museum of California and at the New Parkway on March 21st. The film is currently on the festival circuit.

“How many harvests do you have in you?” is the perennial echo heard across the Masumoto Family peach farm. Enjoy an evening celebrating California food, culture, and storytelling at its finest, with the world premiere of Changing Season: On the Masumoto Family Farm. The new documentary chronicles a transitional year for David “Mas” Masumoto and his daughter, Nikiko, as they lovingly act out the rituals of transitioning the farm into Nikiko’s hands. Meet Mas, Marcy, Nikiko, and Korio Masumoto, celebrated food authors and fourth generation Japanese American organic peach farmers known for their sought-after heirloom Sun Crest peaches and commitment to sustainable farming.
